What truly sets Hot & Spicy Pot apart is the offering of both dry and soupy options for your dish. As a fan of a good spice, I opted for their flavorful soup version. The spice level was just right, delivering a satisfying kick that enhanced the freshness of the ingredients. Customer reviews highlight the restaurant's good value, with meals averaging around $50 per kg, making it an appealing option for both casual diners and serious foodies alike.

“ Having visited several self-serve hotpot places across Auckland, Hot & Spicy Pot is a solid choice. It's comparable in terms of value (~$50 per kg) and quality. They offer a range of expected ingredients, including meats, seafood, vegetables, and noodles. Additionally, you can choose whether you'd like your dish dry or with soup. I opted for the soup version, and while the spice level was good, the broth lacked the kick I tend to prefer. That said, it might be ideal if you prefer a milder flavor in your soup. The wait time was minimal (~10 minutes). It would be helpful if the ingredients were better labeled, though being familiar with them made this less of an issue for me. However, I can see it being problematic if you're unfamiliar with the types of ingredients commonly served in hotpot restaurants. If you're unsure or find it challenging, it's probably worth asking the staff for assistance. The venue is a little crammed, probably not the easiest to navigate if you have accessibility issues. As expected in self-service establishments, the service is minimal, but the staff at the counter were quick and efficient. No complaints there. Overall, a solid choice. ”
“ Locates along Dominion Road, signage easily spotted. Pick the huge varieties of fresh item from the chiller, then proceed to the cashier to pay by weight. We ordered a big bowl of stir fry dry mala to share. The taste is good and fresh. ”
“ Good experience although the ingredients should also be in English so you know what everything is. Just happy I went with a friend who's Malaysian and she told me what everything was. When you arrive you grab a bowl, put your ingredients then take it to the counter to weigh. Price will depend on how much the bowl of Ingredients weigh. And you have the option to have it dry (ingredients cooked on a hot plate and served as is, or cooked in a soup with different levels of spice. I had mild and it was spicy for me haha You can also purchase white rice on the side which helped me with the spice. Not a huge selection of drinks but they did have some of the coke range. My soup was huge! But so good. And if you dont finish it you can take it away. Would absolutely recommend it!! As an islander i hope more islanders discover this hidden gem and just try it. ”
“ We are regulars here I think my phone in the last month has been filled with photos from here. Most days the food is exceptions some days it’s just not right. ”
